Grocery trip and consultation

Grocery Trip & Consultation

There is nothing more overwhelming than being handed a new dietary restriction. It doesn’t matter what it is. Finding the right thing to eat can be exhausting and seems to take more energy than it’s worth.

It doesn't have to be that way.

I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease when nobody knew what it was. My food options were horrendous. Seriously. The only bread I could find was sweetened with fruit juice and weighed as much as a brick. It was also made with chickpeas. Now, I don’t have anything against chickpeas. I love them. I just wanted to add the hummus to my bread, not have it incorporated already. I can’t even fathom how much money I’ve spent on food that is not good. I’m always the first one to try a new gluten free brand and I’ll admit that times have changed and it’s much easier to find gluten free brands that are good.

That being said, it’s really frustrating to spend $7 on a loaf of bread to find out that you don’t like it at all. This is where I can help you. I have at least fifteen years of experience in buying gluten free food. I am also adept at reading labels to quickly identify problem foods (of any type of allergen). I think it might be my superpower. Seriously, though, I wish someone would have been willing to go to my grocery store to help me find foods for my new diet.

If this sounds like something that appeals to you as well, contact me and we’ll set up a trip to the grocery store you normally frequent. There’s a chance that you’ll need to change where you shop to find specific foods, but I assure you that it’s worth it. I also pride myself on being incredibly thrifty and I have all sorts of tricks to use gluten free/dairy free food that you’ve decided you don’t like.

If you’d like to incorporate a shopping trip experience with a cooking class, let me know and we’ll make it happen!
